The SPE Nigeria Council Board of Trustees (BoT) serves as the custodian of the long term values of the Council and provides advisory service to the Council. The advisory and moderating roles of the BOT include: (1) Act as the custodian of the society’s long term vision (2) Support Council’s key programs (3) Liaise with key Government and Private sector leadership on behalf of the SPE (4) Deliver external linkages for SPE Nigeria, and (5) Oversight function for Nigeria Council’s investments. By a recent amendment to the operating guidelines of the Council, all past Council Chairmen becomes members of the BoT. The guidelines also provided for appointment of industry chieftains as trustees of SPE Nigeria Council. The board is currently composed of 49 trustees. These passionate veterans of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria have shown keen devotion to sustaining the long term vision of SPE in Nigeria and have led by inspiring others.
