The Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" was established on June 15, 2017. Our chapter is dedicated to enhancing students' education and providing an in-depth exploration of their chosen field of study. Among our most recent activities, we organized a field trip to the production facilities of PJSC "Ukrnafta" and visited the State Emergency Service training ground. This year, we are proud recipients of two prestigious awards: the Regional Recognition for Technical Dissemination presented by SPE Europe Regional Director Pierre-Emmanuel DHuart and the Recognition Award for officers’ contributions to SPE membership growth, granted by both the SPE Central Ukraine Section and the SPE Regional Director for Europe.
One of our flagship events was the SPE Student Symposium and Professional Workshop, which twice took place as part of the Xth Oil & Gas Forum and First Green Oil & Gas Forum hosted at our university and were the first such event in Ukraine. We also conduct 30+ excursions to our educational and research drilling site, the KREMCO-K750 rig, as well as visits to the operational bases of state production and international oilfield companies. Additionally, we have hosted training sessions on Petrel modeling software led by expert from the SPE Central Ukraine Section. Our chapter actively facilitates a wide range of networking events with representatives from companies such as Ukrnafta, DTEK, UGV and Weatherford among others. Members of our chapter have won scholarship programs from Ukrnafta. Additionally, they actively participate in international events such as SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) and AAPG Europe Regional conference.
