Subject: Downhole tool mechanical design guide
Dear all,
we have our proprietary TCT mechanical cutter for downhole tubing / drill pipe / retrievable packer recovery, which has a 2-1/8" OD that is for 2-7/8" pipe cutting. As we are adapting to bigger OD / cutting bigger pipes, would anyone help to refer us to a mechanical design guide such as: if diameter changes within the tool body how should transitions be designed (e.g. length and angle of chamfers). If there is no general guide maybe there is a company developed guide (for example previously we used a design guide from Exxon for Stabilizers).
Alternative we can make a design review with someone who knows how to design such things then happy to hear recommendations.
Kind regards,
Junying Chang
