Hello SPE members,
I'm currently in the scoping phase of (potentially) new product development and would appreciate any feedback you're willing to give on the following questions. I'm interested in making sort of a world map of a few characteristic well conditions that should help us design better products. Our goal is to design better products by digging for the root problem. Please include a geographic region in your responses (by country would be ideal).
1) Reciprocating vs PCP - it seems that rod lift is the predominant method of artificial lift in the world, but I'm wondering if someone has an idea of general percentages of pump type they can share. Eg. is it 80% sucker rod pumping and 5% PCP in the Middle East?
2) Do you predominantly have issues with rod fatigue or tubing wear?
3) What are the most common chemical challenges? Eg. water, CO2, H2S
4) Is sand a problem?
You can also email me at work (jackiek@plainsmanmfg.com) if you have any specific issues you want to talk about.
Thanks in advance.
