Meet our graduates!

December 2023

Pierce Miller

Pierce Miller

Pierce Miller received his SPE Fort Worth Section Scholarship in the Spring of 2021. This Fall he graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and a minor in Mathematics, with a final GPA of 3.605.

While at Texas A&M, Pierce was active in the SPE student chapter along with running Promethion Consulting, the social media marketing business he started in high school. He also completed three summer internships with Jetta Operations, Pilot Water Solutions, and OXY.

After graduation, Pierce will be joining OXY in the Engineering Development Program in Carlsbad, NM as a Production Engineer.

Miranda Brooks 

Miranda Brooks

Miranda Brooks was awarded an SPE Fort Worth Section Scholarship in the fall of 2021. This spring she graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and a final GPA of 3.353.

While at Tech, Miranda has been active in the SPE student chapter, Ladies in Petroleum (LIP), and AADE. She also completed a summer internship at Diamondback Energy.

After graduation, she will be joining Oxy in Midland in their Engineering Development Program as a Facilities Engineer.



Jacob Witte

Jacob Witte

Jake Witte received his SPE Fort Worth Section Scholarship in the fall of 2019. He is graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a final GPA of 3.439.

While at Tech, Jake was active in the American Society of Civil Engineers as well as working as an intern for John Manville.

After graduation, Jake 
will be moving to Austin to begin his career with Skybeck Construction, working as a field engineer.

Andrea Mendoza

Andrea MendozaAndrea Mendoza was awarded an SPE Fort Worth Section Scholarship in the fall of 2018. This spring she graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, a minor in Business, and a final GPA of 3.524.

While at A&M, Andrea has been active in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) where she mentored new students coming into Chemical Engineering.

She will be staying at Texas A&M University for two more years to obtain a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a specialty in environmental engineering. After graduating, she hopes to work in petrochemical wastewater treatment.  This summer Andrea will be working with an iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) team at TAMU on a project focused on the biodegradation of plastics using bacteria.
