Chairperson's Newsletter - Fall 2024

Welcome back!

Hard to believe Summer is over and we are swinging back into routine. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the SPE Clay Shoot in June 2024, and to our sponsors who helped make it a successful event. As a result, we raised an amazing $14,063 for scholarships. Also, this year’s clay shoot was the last one for our board member, Steve Neuse with Texland Petroleum. After over 25 years in our industry, he has decided to retire. We would like to extend our gratitude to Steve for his mentorship, guidance, and help with the annual Clay Shoot.

On this note, we would also like to present our newest board members, Juan Venturi and Logan Vitello. Juan has volunteered to head our Fall Golf Tournament, which is schedule on October 18, 2024. And Logan will be taking over Steve Neuse position as Clay Shoot Chair. We are thankful for all their help, and if you are interested, we still have positions available to volunteer. Our next fundraising event is the 40th Annual SPE Golf Tournament on October 18, 2024 at Squaw Creek Golf Club. There is still time to register, volunteer and sponsor!

Looking forward to our speaker series, we will have our first meeting on September 19, 2024 with Adam Colaib from Siesmos. He will be presenting “How Important is Friction to Frac Economics.” The luncheon will be at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club. Registration is now open.

Volunteers Needed!


Have you ever thought about volunteering in the SPE?  There are many benefits, including:
  • Enhancing your leadership skills.
  • Influencing SPE programs and activities with your knowledge and experience.
  • Meeting and working with other members near you and around the globe.
  • Contributing in your area of interest.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Scholarship applications for the 2024-25 school year closed on April 15, 2024. Applications for the 2025-26 year will be accepted starting January 1, 2025. Qualifying students may receive up to $12,000 to help them with college expenses as they pursue a career in Oil and Gas.
