We recently hosted a webinar, in collaboration with SPE Ghana section, that explored how digital transformation and the energy transition are reshaping oil and gas education, featuring insights from Dr. Victoria Nalule, Dr. Yen Adam Sokoma-Neuyam, Micky Ofori Kuragu, and Eng. Joan Namukasa. The speakers discussed the shift toward clean energy, the rise of job opportunities in renewables, and the need to blend traditional oil and gas skills with emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and automation. Key takeaways highlighted the importance of developing country-specific energy transition strategies and the growing demand for expertise in hydrogen, carbon capture, and sustainable technologies.

We recently hosted an insightful lecture by Ms. Rubabat Bonke Oseni, D&I chair of SPE Ghana, on the crucial role of diversity and inclusion in the energy industry. She highlighted the need for equal opportunities for women, pointed out disparities in maternity leave policies and the global gender pay gap, and stressed the importance of networking, self-advocacy, and confident salary negotiations. Her talk also emphasized how diversity can help tackle energy poverty in Africa and build a more equitable future.
