On March 7, 2016 the SPE Board of Directors formed a Climate Change Task force to develop and recommend a strategy for SPE regarding climate change. The Climate Change Task Force presented their recommendations to the SPE Board of Directors and the BOD approved the recommendations on March 26, 2017. Over the last three years the HSE&S Technical Director's Climate Advisory Committee outlined and contributed to efforts to implement the Climate Change Task Force's recommendations. The attached "SPE Climate Change Strategy Implementation of Actions" describes the work to date under the umbrella of the Climate Advisory Committee. Going forward most of the activities within SDTS related to climate issues will be organized under the umbrella and leadership of the GAIA Sustainability Program (Gaia Sustainability Program (spe.org)). Several SPE Technical Sections, including CCUS and R&D, will be directly involved in activities related to climate issues.
