Dear SDTS Members
It's SPE International and Regional Awards season..............one of the most loved SPE programs. Right now all round the world so many of us are nominating deserving fellow SPE members for technical and service awards. It's a heavy lift, no doubt, but so well worth it when you see your nominee up on stage being recognized for their technical achievements or their service to the SPE knowledge sharing and networking mission.
International Awards close this coming Sunday Feb 15th you can nominate and their referees [up to six] have until Feb 25th to submit their letters.
Regional Awards close on March 1st with referees enjoying an extra ten days to submit their letters.
You can also come forward to sit on the Awards Committees to help assess the nominations next year and beyond. Both HSE and Sustainability Committees have slots open - if these are your disciplines, do come forward. The term is three years and it's a great experience. Eligibility criteria below.

Qualifications and Experience
- Current SPE professional member with an unbiased vested interest in SPE (required)
- Appreciation of service, service experience, and interest in serving on an award subcommittee (required)
- SPE member for at least 5 years (recommended)
- Recipients of the SPE technical award being judged (recommended)
Expected Time Commitment
- Three-year term for members
- One-year term for the chair, typically an existing actively engaged award subcommittee member in the 3rd year of their term
- Ability to meet approximately three teleconference deliberations between March and May
Deliverables and Expectations
- Subcommittee members must act in the best interest of SPE and actively participate.
- No travel required. Communication will take place via teleconference and email.
- Nomination reviews take place online and during deliberation teleconferences.
- Deliverable - Recipient recommendation(s) to the SPE Board of Directors for final approval
- Applicants will be notified by the end of August.
