    COP16 took place 21 October to 1 November in Colombia. It was the first biodiversity COP since the adoption of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) at COP15 in 2022 - the world's plan of action for reversing nature loss. COP16 focused on countries' implementation of the GBF, reviewing the development of national biodiversity strategies and action plans.
