Attached below is a link to a multi-society symposium on February 18-19, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. The theme of the symposium is "Toward a Circular Economy," which is characterized as an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life (source: WRAP - Circular Economy & Resource Efficiency Experts)
The symposium and workshop will explore the interdependent roles each play in bringing about a sustainable future. The outcome of the event will be a vision for and roadmap to a sustainable world where affordable and reliable resources support the social, economic, and environmental needs of a growing population.
The current list of partners for this symposium/workshop include: SPE, SME, AIME, ASCE, AIST, AICHE, and TMS. Details of the program, including the list of speakers, is still under development. A Call of Papers will also be issued very soon. More information on the event is available in the attached link: ESS:M&R3 | AIME
This should be a very interesting and engaging event on a concept that is still pretty new to many folks. Please check out the link and consider the Call for Papers once issued. Thanks.
