This joint WITS/SPE Romania webinar will present a practical case study and discuss a technology designed to address SCP utilizing a method named Casing Expansion for Annular Sealing.
This particular method (one of several available) is based on explosive charges typically used for casing perforation or explosive jet cutting of casing (pipe recovery). This time, it involves precisely calculating and testing the charges to plastically deform the casing at specific points identified through Cement Bond Log (CBL) or other.
The resulting deformation compresses and "densifies" the surrounding cement, effectively mitigating annular pressure.
