I am looking at drill pipe fatigue in directional wellbore. Given two ranges of drill pipe ( range 2 and 3) with the same grade and connection. Are there any valid reasons to use range 2 over range 3? I have heard about tool joint proximity of range 2 DP helping to reduce downhole vibrations. Is this a valid argument? Any publications to support this reasoning? Negect tripping speeds and connection times.
