While checking for casing connections, I calculated VON MISES at each critical point: Surface, TOC, Preveious casing shoe, float collar & float shoe. VON MISES always gives +ve value. So if at some point casing is under axial compression then should I use ratio of Connection compressive yield strength (lbf) to Von Mises stress(lbf) as safety factor available in my design?

I have used, Von Mises stress (lbf) = Von Mises stress (psi) x critical cross section area of connection (inch2), is it correct? My calculated safety factor should be greater than 1.25 for N-80 casing or different design factor is required for connection under compression.
