What other factors should be considered or taken to select the candidate to be P&A'd through Rig over Rigless P&A besides following.

1) if there lost circulation zone & there is no cement behind casing

2) casing is corroded at surface & there is lost of containment

 

Kindly share your opinions regarding what other parameters should be taken into account to P&A through Rig.

For item 2; an expandable liner can be used  to set the liner in competent casing and expand up into the wellhead or into casing below the hanger (if it is competent) to regain contaimnent / ingtegrity of the production casing string. We recently expanded over 7000 feet of liner up to surface then added a spool to the wellhead to attach the seal above the existing production casing. Restoring Wellbore Integrity of corroded casing is possible whether downhole or at or just below the surface.
