Hello all,

Please I need candid explanations. Can you separate well integrity testing services from Wellhead maintenance services? What's the difference in both if they can be separate. My thinking is; well integrity testing is part of wellhead maintenance system/services which can be a full scale services rendered to a producing company to properly take care of the integrity of their facilities (safety, maintenance and efficiency etc).

I need to be educated please.

Ismaila,

Well Integrity should be considered the broader subject of which wellhead maintenance is just one part.  Well integrity also includes management of annulus pressures, management of corrosion int he tubulars with chemicals, management of erosion of the tubing with velocity/production control, management of sand production through drawdown limits, etc.

Wellhead maintenance services are often provided by a third party that does not have any involvement with management of the rest of the well integrity envelope or operational limits.

Folks,

I should add that if your annuluar pressure build up rate is strongly drawdown dependent then Darcy's law is can be a appropriate match than Capillary flow.  This can be checked by looking at annulus pressure build up events over the well life with different drawdown conditions.

Please note the  Well integrity standard for the operate phase is avalaible since 8 th of August this year on teh ISO web siet under ISO 16530.  That describes the full operate phase that is referred to. The full life cycle well integrity standard is under development aproximate timing is Q 2 2016 before this is released.
