Led by Donna Lee, SPE H2TS Study Group Chair, the Hydrogen Study Group has been formed to share industry practices and insights across a wider audience of professionals. The H2TS board has launched a high-level, invitation-only study group dedicated to critical and emerging issues in the hydrogen sector, including production, storage, policy, and geopolitics. The group meets virtually for 90-minute monthly sessions, each featuring short expert briefings and structured synthesis. The focus is on intelligence sharing and strategic foresight. Key insights are logged, and every fourth session assesses potential for collaborative papers or public outputs. Participants include professionals from government, industry, and academia with proven influence and execution capacity in energy systems.

Led by Ibrahim Muritala, SPE H2TS Membership Chair, H2 Technical Section participated in a youth membership drive through community STEM outreach, career guidance workshops, and energy awareness campaigns in schools and local communities to inspire the next generation of energy professionals.
Led by Ardian Nengkoda, SPE H2TS Liaison for P&F, H2TS contributed to the establishment of the Center of Excellence for Hydrogen at the University of Indonesia, in collaboration with SPE Regional Asia Pacific. This includes organizing the first H2 Symposium: https://www.spe-events.org/symposium/apachydrogen
Led by Suhail Diaz Valderrama, SPE H2TS Regional Champion, the SPE H2 Technical Section Working Group in the MENA Region was launched. This milestone advances low-carbon hydrogen knowledge, collaboration, and best practices. The Working Group aims to foster innovation, empower young professionals, and shape hydrogen's future in the energy transition.

Leveraging the experience of H2TS members, these events can amplify awareness and action around young members' career aspirations in traditional oil and gas sectors while navigating the shifts toward energy transition and the hydrogen economy.
Key Approaches:
- Dedicated Youth Sessions: Organize breakout sessions or forums within SPE events focused on "Careers of the Future" – bringing industry leaders, young professionals, and academic voices together to discuss skill gaps, mentorship, and career mapping. We focus on our members giving speeches or presentations at universities.
- Panel Discussions & Roundtables: Include young professionals in panel sessions on hydrogen and related topics to highlight evolving roles and competencies. We focus on our members giving speeches or presentations at SPE events.
- Career Clinics and Innovation Showcases: Provide opportunities for students and recent graduates to present innovations or research on energy transition and hydrogen technologies. We focus on our members giving speeches or presentations at universities.
- Surveys and Listening Tours: Conduct brief surveys or live feedback sessions to understand young members’ aspirations and support needs. University-based members will help carry out this action and prepare a short report.
- Networking Mixers and Mentorship Hubs: Host informal gatherings for students and early-career professionals to engage with industry leaders and recruiters. We focus on our members giving speeches or presentations at SPE events and universities.
