Description:
The talk will discuss what's moving oil prices and potential scenarios of oil prices. The cost of capital and public company equities' relationship to oil prices will also be discussed.
Bio:
Jim Harden is a Partner at Moss Adams Valuation Advisory group. He has spent his entire career in various facets of the energy industry. In his career, he has led hundreds of global energy-sector engagements, supporting mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting and purchase price allocations, tax matters, insurance, solvency and fairness opinions, bankruptcy and litigation.
His clients have included major and independent oil and gas companies, onshore and offshore drillers, oilfield service companies, upstream and midstream MLP’s, oil refiners, ethanol producers and petrochemical companies. Jim has also served energy clients as an expert witness before various courts on oil and gas valuation matters. His professional experience includes serving as the Global Oil and Gas Valuation Leader at a Big-4 accounting firm, Texaco Inc., and as a partner in an oil and gas exploration and production company.
Jim has dual BS degrees from Ft. Hays State University and an MBA from LeTourneau University. He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA - Certified in Oil and Gas Valuation), Certified Professional Geologist (CPG), and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has been listed by the Houston Business Journal and the American Cities Business Journals as a “Who’s Who in Energy”. He is a published several articles and presented papers at more than forty professional conferences.
