Abstract:
Tuition in the school of hard knocks is particularly expensive. Mr. Purvis draws on over two decades of reservoir engineering experience to tell cautionary and entertaining tales of acquisitions gone wrong, and a few gone right. Come hear about LOE inflated by the costs of carwashes and about the guy who had "a reservoir built over his field" plus other novel stories.
Speaker Bio:
Dwayne Purvis, P.E. has spent over two decades in reservoir engineering and executive leadership as a consultant and operator. He has led or participated in hundreds of field studies and reserve analyses over dozens of basins in the United States and abroad, and he has participated in the sale or acquisition of projects valued from tens of thousands to billions of dollars.
Before starting his own consulting practice in 2015, he served Jetta Operating Company as Reservoir Engineering Manager and Reserves Manager. Prior roles include founder and Executive Vice President of consulting firm The Strickland Group and partner at Cawley, Gillespie & Associates.
Mr. Purvis has published on issues of reserves, risk analysis and shale reservoirs. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, member of AAPG, SEG and a 25-year member of SPE.

Bring a Toy in Lieu of Payment
For the December Monthly Meeting only, the SPE Dallas Section will be accepting a toy in lieu of registration payment. Here's how you do it:
1. Register for event on the website.
2. On the payment screen choose payment type: "Generate an Invoice (for Check/Cash or Payment Order)"
3. Bring a new unwrapped toy to the meeting (preferably one that costs approximately the same as the registration fee).
It's that easy! We encourage everyone to help make a child's Christmas wish come true.
