Golf Tournament and Energy Transition Networking Event Huge Successes, More Energy Transition News

Dear Colleagues,

As we wrap up another vibrant month at SPE LA Basin Section, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our recent events. Your enthusiasm and engagement make the hard work that goes into in-person events worthwhile.

Golf Tournament Recap
We kicked off May with our annual Golf Tournament on Friday, May 3rd. It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces, and new ones, enjoying the beautiful Navy course and the fun of a shotgun start. I had a great time selling raffle tickets and mingling with all of you. A big thank you to everyone who came out to play and support our scholarship programs. And a special thank you to Ted and Kelly Frankiewicz for showing up extra early to setup the check in area and all the hard work beforehand.

Energy Transition Discussion
Las month, we met for our first Energy Transition Discussion. I had the privilege of discussing hydrogen's role in the energy transition alongside Hiren Patel and Richard Holt, who shared their insights on carbon capture and geothermal resources, respectively. The event extended into a lively and enjoyable evening, and although we had to conclude at a set time, the spirited conversations were a clear sign of the passion and interest within our community. We are already looking forward to organizing more of these discussions and will aim to optimize the timing based on your valuable feedback. See the article on the discussion later in the newsletter, including pictures!!
