About the Committee

The committee is responsible for the integration of professional activities and practices, including the further development, future updating, and society-wide awareness of the Petroleum Engineering Skills Matrix and the database of worldwide credentialing practices. The committee is responsible for oversight of the US Engineering Registration and SPE Petroleum Engineering Certification Subcommittees. The Engineering Professionalism Committee comprises up to 12 members.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have an interest in professionalism related to credentials, certification, ethics, and related matters.
  • SPE membership

 Expected Time Commitment

  • Three-year term
  • Attendance at one physical meeting per year
  • Attendance in six teleconferences per year
  • Estimated time commitment per month is one to three hours

Deliverables and Expectations

  • Actively engage in committee functions, including meetings, to achieve the goals of the committee
  • Monitor activities in the areas of registration, licensure, and/or certification and advise the Board of any significant developments that might occur
  • Be available to discuss committee matters via email with committee members
