North America Student Symposium 2019 Event Committee

North America Student Symposium is a multi-day event that provides professional development opportunities for SPE student members in North America through technical and soft skills presentations, field trips and networking events. When possible, a recruiting fair will also be included. 

North America Student Symposium is planned for students by students with support from SPE membership staff. The commitment is for one (1) year with all participants expected to attend the Symposium, tentatively planned for Houston, TX. Each Director will be responsible for a different aspect of the event (sponsorship, scheduling, speakers, etc). There will be conference meetings scheduled throughout summer and holiday breaks as needed.


At this time, we are seeking four SPE Student Members to make up the executive board of the event committee as Directors. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Determine the theme of the event 
• Attend Teleconferences as required
• Attend North American Student Symposium
• Plan, organize and execute program schedule
• Invite and procure industry professionals as speakers 
• Manage a team to assist you in your assigned role duties 

Key Requirements: 

• SPE Member in good standing 
• Must graduate after April 2019 
• Be attending a University within Canada, the United States, or Mexico

Please note that student members attending Universities within North America that do not have SPE Student Chapters are still eligible to apply.
