Description:

This committee is charged with selecting the SPE Drilling Engineering Award.

Tasks:

  • Committee will review candidates nominated by the membership
  • Committee will hold up to 3 ballots
  • Committee will deliberate together to select recipient

Eligibility:

  • Current SPE Professional Member
  • Expertise in the technical discipline of Drilling Engineering

    • Well planning

    • Wellbore design

    • Wellheads

    • Drillstring design and dynamics

    • Drill bits

    • Drilling operations

    • Pressure management

    • Formation damage

    • Wellbore positioning

    • Drilling equipment

    • Drilling fluids

    • Drilling measurement

    • Drilling automation

    • Casing and cementing

    • Fundamental research in drilling

Time Commitment:

  • 3 year term, completion at ATCE
  • Annual online review of candidates
  • Committee is active between February and May
  • Members participate in several teleconferences during the active period
