Description:

This committee is charged with selecting the SPE Distinguished Achievement Award For Petroleum Engineering Faculty. This award recognizes superior teaching, excellence in research, significant contributions to the petroleum engineering profession, and/or special effectiveness in advising and guiding students.

Tasks:

  • Committee will review candidates nominated by the membership
  • Committee will hold up to 3 ballots
  • Committee will deliberate together to select recipient

Eligibility:

  • Current SPE professional member
  • Expertise in the academic environment with knowledge to recognize:

    • superior teaching,

    • excellence in research

    • significant contributions to the petroleum engineering profession

    • and/or special effectiveness in advising and guiding students

Time Commitment:

  • 3 year term, completion at ATCE
  • Annual online review of candidates
  • Monthly teleconferences between February and May
NOTE: Committee members are ineligible for this award during their term of service and for 2 years afterward.

Qualifications:

Membership Experience: 10 or more years
