The Sub-committee is charged with: 

The Sub-committee works with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and with state boards of engineering registration to facilitate the registration of interested petroleum engineers.  The Sub-committee is responsible for the preparation of the examinations furnished to the NCEES for use by state boards.  Also, the Sub-committee monitors activities in the areas of registration, licensure, and/or certification and advises the Board of any significant development that might occur.

 

Expectations

  • To actively engage in Sub-committee functions, including meetings and other functions performed to achieve the goals of the Sub-committee
  • To participate in at least three physical meetings per year
  • To participate in teleconferences as needed
  • To be available to discuss Sub-committee matters via email with Sub-committee members

 

Eligibility

  • SPE membership
  • Must be a licensed PE by exam

 

Expected Time Commitment

  • 4-Year Term Cycle
  • Attendance at three physical meetings per year (192 hours/4-Term Cycle)
               *Each physical meeting is two 8 hour days (16 hours total)
  • Estimated time commitment approximately 200 hours per year
