Volunteer Sign Up 

The SPE PetroBowl South America and Caribbean Regional Qualifiers 2020 will be held on Saturday 21st March 2020, after 20LACPEC & 20HSE at Calle 92 #16-11, Bogotá, Colombia. All volunteers are expected to be on site from 7:00 am until the end of the competition.

Petrobowl Regional Qualifiers are operated and coordinated by a committee that is formed by the regional director for the specific region. If you have any questions about this opportunity please email: petrobowlsacr@gmail.com.

ROLE

SPECIFICATION

DUTIES

Audio-visual Coordinator

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Responsible for the audio-visual material such as microphones, projector, computers, buzzers.
  • Pick up and return the audio-visual material.
  • Stop the game if there are any technical problems and solve them.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Registration Coordinator

 

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Assist with setting up the room.
  • Register the teams upon arrival.
  • Support sponsors.
  • Register personal.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Speaker Assistant

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Assist the speaker with microphone, water or anything else he may need.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Moderator

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Required to read out all questions and allocating points accordingly as well as overall timekeeping.
  • Be the main point of contact during the competition.
  • Ensure that all teams abide by all the policies as outlined in the PetroBowl Regionals Rules & Regulations.
  • Consult the judges as needed to determine the correctness of answers and in case appeals are raised.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Judge

  • Should be a professional member with many years of experience in the industry.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Review the questions as they are asked and support the moderator if any questions or appeals are made by the moderator or players.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.
  • Be prepared to make a decision on the validity of an answer if the moderator defers to judges or a team makes an appeal
  • Assist the moderator by ensuring that all teams abide by all the policies as outlined in the PetroBowl Regionals Rules & Regulations.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Timekeeper

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Manage the timekeeping throughout the round (time allowed per game, time allowed for buzz in and time allowed per question).
  • Indicate when competitors can voice an answer by addressing competitors when they buzz in.
  • Assist score keeper in recording final scores.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Scorekeeper

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Using the forms and instructions provided, manage the buzzers and scoreboard throughout the game.
  • Confirm the final scores at the end of the game to the moderator and judges.
  • Record scores at the end of each round.
  • Record the individual statics of the competitors.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Software Coordinator

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Responsible for projecting and managing the competition software during the game.
  • Will be trained in the software application.
  • Responsible for starting and ending the games as well as, stopping the game if needed
  • Responsible for modifying the results.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.

Social Media & Visual Aid Coordinator

  • Should be experienced in the game format.
  • Familiarity with the PetroBowl program and format.  
  • Be available for training and a test match before the competition.
  • Participate in volunteer briefing session(s) as required in advance of the contest.
  • Responsible for posting updates on the social media platforms.
  • Responsible for showing visual aid questions when asked by the moderator.
  • Responsible for updating the bracket poster at end of each game.
  • Responsible for updating the fixture game as the competition is going.
  • Participate in debriefing session(s) as required following the contest.
