This committee is charged with selecting the SPE Drilling Engineering  Award

Tasks:

  • Committee will review candidates nominated by the membership
  • Committee will hold up to 3 ballots
  • Committee will deliberate together to select recipient

Eligibility:

  • Current SPE professional member
  • Expertise in the technical discipline of Drilling Engineering
    • Well Planning
    • Wellbore Design
    • Wellhead Design
    • Drillstring Design
    • Drill Bits
    • Drilling Operations
    • Pressure Management
    • Formation Damage
    • Wellbore Positioning
    • Drilling Equipment
    • Drilling Fluids and Materials
    • Drilling Measurement, Data Acquisition and Automation
    • Drilling Automation
    • Casing and Cementing
    • Fundamental Research in Drilling

Time Commitment:

  • 3 year term, completion at ATCE
  • Annual online review of candidates
  • Monthly teleconferences between February and May
Note: Committee members may not be candidates for this award during their term of service, and for 2 years afterward.
