Mr. Chaojie Di

Institute of Geology and Geophysics

Bio

Dr. Di holds a BSc and MSc in Petroleum Engineering from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and obtained his doctoral degree in the RSG (Reservoir Simulation Group) at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Prof. Zhangxing (John) Chen. With a solid academic background, he has accumulated six years of expertise in fluid phase behaviour modelling and the development of numerical simulators, including the black-oil model, compositional model, GCS (geological CO2 storage), and CPG (CO2 plume geothermal) system simulation. He is proficient in various programming languages, including C, C++, Fortran, MATLAB, and VBA. Additionally, Dr. Di is adept at utilizing commercial reservoir simulation software such as CMG and ECLIPSE.

Currently, Dr. Di works as a full-time (0.5 FTE) scientist at Computer Modelling Group (CMG), responsible for developing compositional simulators. Additionally, he leads the maintenance and development of a parallel non-isothermal compositional simulator (PRSI-CGCS) in the RSG. On behalf of the RSG, Chaojie utilized PRSI-CGCS to participate in the SPE11 (The 11th Society of Petroleum Engineers Comparative Solution Project) from 2023.3 to 2025.3.
