Bob Pearson, P. Eng., is a Petroleum Engineering consultant and advisor to oil and gas companies and investors. He was the SPE Technical Director (TD) for Production & Facilities (P&F) from 2019-22 and a former SPE Distinguished Lecturer on Optimized Gas-well Completions and Operations.
From 1970 to 1980, Bob Pearson worked for Shell International in S.E. Asia and The North Sea. He then moved to Petro-Canada (now Suncor) in Calgary. Since 1983, he has worked as a consultant, through RPS Energy and a predecessor company (APA Petroleum Engineering, which he co-founded).
From 2007 to 2015, he worked in Singapore and then Brisbane, primarily for RPS Energy and subsequently with Tactical Gas Services Pty. Ltd. (a private company he co-founded).
In 2015, he returned to Calgary, and continued to consult and proved training services through his Alberta Company: Glynn Resources Ltd (GRL). He was a director of the Calgary Section of SPE from 2016-19.
Bob’s extensive experience includes Subsurface and Completions Engineering; Field Development Planning and Peer Reviews, as well as Production and Operations for Conventional and Unconventional Wells on land and offshore. He has also provided training services for many years through the SPE; Pet. Soc. of CIM; APA and various commercial training organizations, including IHRDC.
Bob Pearson has a BSc. (Hons) in Mining Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the U.K. and is a member of APEGA and SPE.
