  • SPE membership satisfaction survey

    The 2016 SPE Member Satisfaction Survey reports the majority of SPE members are satisfied with their membership (84%), are proud to be a member (86%), and find their dues worth the cost (86%). Members used positive words like competent, respected, and community to describe SPE.

    SPE members place high importance on building relationships, and they value SPE’s publications to stay current. Journal of Petroleum Technology® magazine, SPE events,
    OnePetro®, and technical sections are major reasons they maintain their membership.

    A few key points from the report:
    86% of professional respondents reported they are proud to be an SPE member
    84% of professional respondents were satisfied with their SPE membership
    Major factors in the decision to maintain membership for professionals were: Journal of Petroleum Technology magazine; SPE conferences, workshops, and forums; OnePetro; and technical sections
    The top two reasons professionals maintain membership in SPE is to stay updated on developments/news impacting the field and to stay informed on research through journals/publications.
