For our members to know the history of Suriname Upstream oil industry.
In his speech delivered on the occasion
of the 29th Anniversary of the University of Suriname on 31 October 1997, Drs S.E. Jharaph, the first Director of Staatsolie (NOC of Suriname) explains how the Upstream oil industry in Suriname was setup from scratch, under own management and ownership within a relatively short time. Background information to the establishment, objectives and start activities of the NOC and how expertise in technology, management and capital has been acquired, as experienced by him, is presented.
