Theme: Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data: understanding evolving opportunities and challenges for Young Professionals
Synopsis:Robotics, Internet of things, etc. all have the potential to connect billions of people across the world and change the future of work. We need to prepare for this future and understand the implications. While we anticipate the changes to how we work, some of the questions in the minds of young professionals include: Is the change in the future of work an opportunity or a challenge for us in the energy industry? Will young professionals possess the requisite skills needed to excel in the future? How can we overhaul Nigeria’s educational system and get supplemental training for young professionals? Where and how can young professionals get the skill to position for the future of the energy industry? Will people still be required to work on rigs, production platforms and manifolds or will these activities be taken over by automation? Will human input still be required for reservoir analysis, simulation, production analysis, etc.? Are we ready to let go of some jobs and create new ones?
