As the Student Chapter Liaison for the Pittsburgh Chapter, I am proud to announce that our Penn State University student chapter has been named the 2017 Outstanding Student Chapter! What is the only greater honor than this? The fact that they have accomplished this BACK TO BACK in both 2016 and 2017; they’re basically the Pittsburgh Penguins of student chapters, as Adam Larson (PSU Student Chapter President) so eloquently stated in his write up.
This group of young professionals put so much effort and enthusiasm into everything that they do. They go above and beyond; their dedication and humility is so admirable.
They have engaged and grown their presence in within SPE by hosting webinars with industry professionals, volunteering at our Engineer the Future event, submitting research posters to our Pints & Posters event, and much more.
On behalf of the SPE Pittsburgh Chapter, I would like to extend a huge congratulations to this amazing group of students! We are very proud of you and the representation you give to the next wave of young professionals to enter the industry!
