  • SPE Europe Energy GEOHackathon 2023

    It is our pleasure to announce the 3rd edition of the SPE Europe Energy GEOHackathon.

     Six SPE Sections in Europe and two Technical Sections have joined forces to organise this 3rd edition of the SPE Europe Energy GEOHackathon. This outstanding series of events have the goal to educate and disseminate knowledge to all participants about how Data Science applications can help Geothermal Energy Developments and accelerate the energy transition.

     FORMAT:

     

    Bootcamp sessions - October 2nd to November, 2023 (4 weeks)

     

    A four-week set of bootcamp sessions on data science and geothermal energy will begin on October 2nd, 2023. Data scientists and industry experts will deliver weekly sessions to equip participants with the relevant technical knowledge to understand the challenge and get ready for the Hackathon.

     

    Hackathon challenge - November to December, 2023 (4 weeks)

     

     

    WHY JOIN? 

     

    A data-driven prediction and ML classification of reservoir properties from seismic data and well logs can enable solutions for:

    • computationally efficient workflows to interpret large volume of dataset obtained from seismic campaigns

    • identifying new features and facies using unbiased AI workflows contributing to geothermal field developments

    • speeding up the interpretation of the seismic data

    • being part of the energy transition and helping build a stronger energy future
