It’s with a great pleasure to announce the two days official working visit of the SPE 2013 global president, Mr. Egbert Imomoh to Ghana. He will be visiting Ghana Section from Tuesday, 18th Wednesday to19th September, 2012. He will share various achievements and highlights new initiatives within SPE with members and non-members alike at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Airport City, Accra. He will lunch The Women in Oil and Gas Chapter of Ghana and the Energy4me initiative to introduce senior high school students to the discipline of petroleum, geology, environmental engineering and the industry in general.

 You will also have a great opportunity to meet the SPE Ghana Board of Trustees, section officers and network with many of those who matter in Ghana’s blossoming oil and gas industry. This event also features Distinguished Lectures: Mike Choi of ConocoPhillips, (USA), Martin Crick, Chief Petroleum Engineer at Tullow Oil Plc, Dr. Lina Waya, Development Geologist, Tullow Ghana, Dr. (Mrs.) Juliette Twumasi – Anokye, Legal Advisor to the Petroleum Commission and Ingr. Dr. Robert Adjaye, Past President Ghana Institution of Engineers & Rector, Petroleum Skills Development Institute as well as other important speakers.

 Mr. Imomoh is the non executive chairman and co-founder of Afren Plc. A member of SPE since 1973 and was a founding member in Nigeria. He chaired the SPE Nigeria Council in 1986, was named a Distinguished Member of the Society in 1999, and served as first regional director for Africa on the SPE board during 2000–2003. Since2007, Imomoh has chaired the SPE Board of Trustees, Nigeria.
