Description

Abstract:

Sustainable world energy demand and quest for cleaner and cheap energy have made natural (conventional and unconventional) gas the preferred fossil energy and Liquefied Natural Gas very suitable for transportation over very long distance or when trans-countries pipelines may be subject to socio-political troubles.

Australia, currently fourth LNG exporter in the world has several LNG projects in construction phase with start-up in 2014-2016 and several others are in concept/FEED phase. With all these projects Australia may become the first LNG exporter by 2020.

In US, with very low gas price induced by the Shale gas revolution, there are plans for LNG export. Some of the existing LNG imports terminals will be convert into LNG export terminal and new ones will be built with start-up date by 2015-2017.

We will articulate our talk around following questions:

Could a competition occur between US shale gas revolution and Australian LNG projects? And if so, would it be harmful not only to these projects profitability but also a threat to the renewable energies investments?

What is at stake for countries authorities, communities, NGOs and investors and shareholders in these World  Energy market reshaping projects?

Biography:

Constant Tsouza is a 53 years young & happy human born in Brazzaville. He has a lovely wife and  3 marvelous children (21-25-26). He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree and has gone through the French Petroleum Institute filter long time ago.

His first job was at the Congolese Ministry of Industry (1984-1985) as project engineer.

He joined Elf Congo  in 1985 and have spent his last 27 years trying to understand our bloody Oil & Gas Industry. He has been in search of that truth while filling various positions in various countries such as completion, drilling engineer or Supervisor (several years in field operations); Advanced technologies for deep offshore development project Architect (Swimmer Project with Cibernetix/Total); Petroleum Architect for offshore/subsea development (Africa and North Sea); Planning & Development Management (Norway, Congo and now Australia)

The main lesson learnt over those busy years is "PEOPLE": they are (variously) the same everywhere under the sky, you can't do anything without them, they are the most powerful problem-solving-tool that we have, but also they can cause tremendous troubles if not understood and managed well. And this applies equally in Oil & Gas Industry, in our lives and our families.
