Abstract:The third generation of Wireline Formation Testers (WFT) has revolutionized the ways of characterizing the rock and fluids of a reservoir – by the introduction of the ability to pump reservoir fluids and evaluate them as they flow, then test the rock using Pressure Transient Analysis techniques.

About Speaker: Mohamed Hashem is currently the subsurface technology manager for the North Caspian Operating Company, seconded from Shell. He has earned his BSME degree from Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt 1980; and MSPE degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1987; a DE degree in petroleum engineering from Stanford University.
