    Posted 07-31-2022 01:30 PM
Upstream's digitalization wave has been growing for the past 2-3 years, and most companies have built Digital and Data strategies with several successes and addressing process or data challenges. We have seen successful practices (examples shared with SPE JPT) like:
      • Equinor's global digital solutions portfolio delivered a faster than expected cashflow impact of over $400 million in 2019Chevron leveraged edge computing and data analysts to directionally drill more than 3 million ft remotely in its mid-continent business, starting in 2019 to using 10% of its directional drilling unit in 2020
      • Shell cites GeoSigns, its proprietary seismic imaging software suite as instrumental in discovering 10 million barrels of oil beneath subsurface formation in Demios field in the Gulf of Mexico
      • Total, Chevron, Aker, BP, Shell, and Equinor have developed and deployed digital twins

OSDU was launched and has over 200 active members now. Let's hear what's the most important opportunity or challenge you or your company are experiencing.

    > Share an example we can learn from, or an issue we should be working on together!

I would like to share a podcast sponsored by PPDM called the Three Data
Wise Guys plus 1 with the SPE DSEA community. No commercial content, only
discussions by three individuals with a lot of experience in data
management challenges in upstream oil and gas. The Three Data Wise Guys are
Tim Coburn, John Jacobs and myself with the plus one being our moderators
(swap between Barb Richjards and Matt Becker) Podcasts (ppdm.org)
    <https: ppdm.org/ppdm/ppdm/resources/podcasts/ppdm/podcasts.aspx=""> We have
completed six episodes and look to get back to season two this Fall. The
Challenge of managing Big Data in this era of advanced analytics, digital
twins, digital platforms and the advanced workflows in the Digital Oil
field are certainly topics of interest to be shared with this community. No
sales pitch for any software, just shared experiences from the trenches.
