Thank you for your question, and I appreciate that this can be a bit unclear.
The buffer volumes are defined to be the limit of volumes inside the domain (see eq. (23) and the corresponding discussion), and thus for 11C, the buffer volumes are included in the y-direction, since the reporting boxes cover the whole domain (from y=0 to y=5000).

It's mentioned in the description (Page 10) that the reporting boxes do not extend to the boundary mainly due to buffer zone that is inserted inside the boundary.
For model 11B that's true as we've only the buffer zone inside left and right boundaries, however, for 11C that is not the case as the front and the back boundaries have the same specifications as left and right. In 11C the defined boxes contact the front and the back.
Based on my understanding, it's requested to not to report the buffer region for these boxes.
Am I right?
