Hi, I am from Oman doing PhD (final year) in Petro Microbiology. I think the greatest problem we are facing is getting the permission for field trials. Even if in wet lab the results are promising, without field trials it can't be confirmed.

Even though it is not encouraged right now I'm sure if someone finds a way where MEOR improves oil recovery by a substantial amount , the oil industry will follow . The only question is who will find a break through . I myself believe the best way to resolve a problem is to look how nature solves that problem and mimic it . All the best and we will succeed .

hello friend, there are many problems to overcome in the injection of bacteria (MEOR), for example the management of waste physiological bacteria that can decrease the permeability of the rock. I study petroleum engineering and biology and simultaneously want to do my thesis on MEOR; Integrated biology and engineering perspective is necessary to overcome the problematic in MEOR.

I have worked in Liquid Oxygen Injection producing two SPE papers and have patents that ran out in the subject. Was contacted by a gentleman of Egypt on pursuing academic research on such injection. I do not know what work has been done with such injection and Microbial EOR. First thought is if you increase corrosion the microbe are in on the party!

One of the main challenges facing MEOR in our Oil and Gas Industry World is the fact that even in this day in age it is hard to get both management and the field team to fully buy into a pilot project. Due to the fact that it is often perceived as nothing more than a science experiment that is simply delaying “real work” and not seen for the big picture implications it could have on our Oil and Gas Industry.

I do not have anything about MEOR but I'm interested in proposing this topic for my dissertation, I know it's a very big challenge but I want to work on it, so we can collaborate and get in touch permanently, I believe we can do do it.
