ENERGY4ME 2016 _ Awareness of our Industry

Our passion and commitment to bring and teach our comunity about our Petroleum Industry and his Importance in our lives.

5th June we had the opportunity to teach around 70 students, who are studying for be admitted in our university for some careers of engineering, we taught them about our careers, petroleum and petrochemical engineering, we remark his rol in the energy and our diary lives.
We explain them about the operation of each careers in our industry and what we are doing for change to less environmental impact.
This program is developed by members our chapter and it is a big challenge for us to organize our commitment to academic schedules that are not very regular in our case, but we have support of teachers and sponsor to continue in this program.

We have started this program together with our friends of UNSAAC SPE, Cusco, they will be developing this program in their locality , and we are sending and sharing information with them to expand this activities in all Peru's region.

Our Industry is not better than others, but we consider it would need more technical participation for be better and that we called "awareness".

Bankruptcy and Decommissioning.
Interesting one on realizing process hazards by evaluation of commercial risk loss control The Texas region has always led the way with oil and gas field developments. The article below states that "Landowners are getting antsy again, as the state’s Republican comptroller, Glenn Hegar, has predicted that a third of oil producers in Texas will go bankrupt this summer."

Well decommissioning is a skill and it would seem that Texas, would be the place to lead well system and facility engineering for well system decommissioning. . The human factor will be for "commercial risk managers" to assign a strategy of "project coordination" to return environment and earth systems to a greater quality then when they were exploited.

It is high time to move with an action plan A way is to use common frames of reference, creating a product/service/resource like:
a) an on-line consultancy with Condition Monitoring.
b) a reference source of procedures, technical papers, etc.,
c) a collaboration site (e.g., Facebook or SPE-Connect), or
d) a feedback that is intrinsically empowering around HESQ best practices.
This can be integrated with the 5 C's
1. Commitment - top down and bottom up, continuous improvements
2. Capability – technical, operational & management abilities to properly assess and manage major accident risks
3. Cognizance - awareness of major accident hazards & risks .
4. Culture - balanced production & protection to achieve major accident risks that are As Low As Reasonably Practicable
5. Counting – valid determination of major accident risks and risk management costs and benefits
