This SPE Officer Meeting we were getting ready for our Group Meeting on 2/7/2013. We chose what food was to be ordered for members to eat while the Tech Talk was being presented. Each officer was given some material they were to present at the meeting. We finalized plans for the SPE Book Library, regular article in The Technocrat, SPE Lounge, and new Tutoring Program for Petroleum classes. We currently have recruited 6 members who are willing to serve as tutors. If a member wants tutoring, they will email montanatechspe@gmail.com and will immediately be placed with a tutor that can serve their needs. These tutors (because they aren't being paid) will be receiving engraved soft shell jackets sponsored by Anadarko Petroleum. We expect that this tutoring program will start slow and as time progresses will become larger and more successful. We discussed Gold Standard progress, and if we complete each planned event for the rest of the semester we will have enough points to earn the award. However, membership is our weakest category at 40% membership and we brainstormed new ways to recruit members. We believe that offering these new benefits to SPE members will help recruit new people.
