With the current oil price slump would like to hear from others to know where and how our industry is going to be characterized when "normal" pricing returns? Our industry is already suffering from an aging problem among professionals, and when companies look at layoffs unfortunately it is usually senior (experienced) staff that is RIFF'd.
I have been mentoring a number of young engineers because of my years of experience, but frankly I too was just terminated in a cost cutting situation. This is my 5th price plunge and at retirement age, may be my last in the Petroleum industry.
Any other thoughts on where we are headed?
