SPE Student Exchange Program UPG Ploiești – Politecnico di Torino

Between the 27th and 30th of November 2017, SPE Student Chapter Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești had the privilege of hosting the 2017 SPE Gold Standard Award recipient: SPE Student Chapter Polytechnic University of Torino.
The students had bilateral discussions regarding their student chapters past experiences, as well as their aims for the foreseeable future. Moreover, our students had the chance to present some of the university’s facilities, namely the Reservoir Engineering, Geology and Thermodynamics laboratories, as well as our world-renowned Drilling Simulator.

The field trips to the Institute for Research and Technological Design in Câmpina (ICPT) and Bilciurești Gas Storage facility truly left lasting impressions on our fellow counterparts. In addition, the Italian students had the opportunity of discovering the black gold capital of Romania, Ploiești, by paying a visit to the National Museum of Oil.

Last but not least, the exchange program was closed by a refreshing presentation moderated by Sorin Mario Constantinescu on Database Management Production Operations.

In conclusion, the wonderful days spent with our exquisite guests were a great success. Additionally, this exchange left a permanent mark on our bilateral relations and brought the rich history and experience of the Romanian oil and gas industry once again in a leading position worldwide.

SPE Romanian Section would like to thank our sponsors and partners: ROMGAZ, The Hellenic Union of Romania, OMV-PETROM (ICPT Câmpina), Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești for making this program possible.
