We are excited to see you visit and utilize this website as it has been created by our Board as a resource and tool for you!
SPE Astana Section with the great support of SPE London office was established in April 2013 and officially inaugurated by 2012 SPE President Ganesh Thakur along with participation of SPE International management such as VP Roberto Chiarotti, Russia and Caspian Regional Director Andrey Gladkov and Projects Coordinator Antonina Kozmina. Opening reception of our Section had attracted many high-profile guests, top management of national and international oil companies such as KMG, KING, NCOC, ExxonMobil, PetroKazakhstan, PSA, Shell, Schlumberger and others. Most notably, cooperation with KAZENERGY Association had been a strategic milestone and trusted partnership for the development of our Section.
As a young Section we had set ambitious goals to contribute to Kazakhstan petroleum industry, grow, gain credibility, provide/host highly technical and also social events for the society, and disseminate knowledge. From the first day of establishment we had held numerous valuable talks, social events and participated in several flagship events such as KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum in which 2014 SPE President Jeff Spath gave a speech on Energy Sustainability. Moreover, the culmination of 2014 will be first ever SPE International Event in Caspian region countries – Annual Caspian Technical Conference and Exhibition in Astana, November of this year!
Our team is also proud of contributing and guiding the prestigious Nazarbayev University to establish SPE Student Chapter which is now developing exponentially! Creation of Young Professionals Committee had enhanced support for the new student chapter and united all professionals under 35.
