Mr. Michael Samuelson

Bio

Michael's career began with Dowell division of Dow Chemical in 1979 as Analytical Research engineer. Early on, he implemented X-ray fluorescence and x-ray diffraction capabilities in 3 US Land division labs, and supervised fracturing and cementing project support of 11 R&D groups. He gained experience in sand control through developing crosslinked polymer systems for use as gravel pack carrier fluids and lost circulation plugs. Moving to the Industrial Services division, he developed 3 proprietary treatment processes for heavy metal removal from chelant cleaning wastes, and engineered a pilot unit reverse osmosis treatment system. He then led development of low-temperature encapsulated breakers, and solvent technology with improved environmental parameters. In 1995 he moved from R&D into marketing, as Product champion for several worldwide technologies, including high-temperature proppant flowback, fluid-loss additives for naturally fractured reservoirs and high-temperature, low-polymer crosslinked fracturing fluids. From 2002, at the Kellyville training center, he developed the Well Production Services field engineer cross-training program. In 2006 he became Geomarket Technical Engineer for Mid-Continent basin of the US Land Central division and in 2012 he moved into the Technical Integration group as a Sr. Production Stimulation Engineer. This is the position from which he retired in March, 2016.
He served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army Reserve Infantry from 1981 to 1987, achieving the top rank of Captain.
Michael has built his career on a strong conviction that everyone has God-given talents and abilities that need to first be personally recognized, then consistently used to accomplish clearly defined goals and objectives. His main motivations have been his faith and family, along with a desire to help develop technical excellence through his sphere of influence in the business community.
He greatly enjoys spending time with his family, has coached his two younger sons in baseball, soccer and competitive Bible memorization, and enjoys a very occasional game of golf.
