ABSTRACT
Drilling a well is not enough for sustained oil and gas production but completing and managing such wells is key to its productive life and eventually keeping it safe when it is no longer productive or impossible to continue to safely produce such well and the huge task of ensuring proper completion production and eventual abandonment of such well is the exclusive task of WELL INTERVENTION and is carried out by a well intervention engineer/technician who in some companies referred to as a well services personnel.
Well Intervention entails wireline, slickline, Coiled tubing operations, Well Head maintenance, work overs and all rig less operations in general etc. In this presentation we will be looking at briefly some of the critical well intervention operations and procedures and how it impacts on the the oil and gas industry world wide with particular interest in the Nigeria O & G industry.
PRESENTER’S PROFILE
Engr Dr, Eddy Ifeanyi Okoh is a graduate of former Edo State University Ekpoma, Delta state university Abraka, Atlantic International University USA and University of port Harcourt .
With a background in Mechanical engineering and project management with over 20 years’ experience in E & P industry, spanning from Servicing company to multinational IOC’s as well as foremost Indigenous producing companies also mentors students and young engineers as a visiting lecturer in several institutions of higher learning as well as cooperate seminars/training workshops.
He is a member of many professional bodies like SPE, NSE, IIME etc , he has also served as president of International Association of Lions clubs, Warri treasure base lions club. His love for media also earned him a Diploma in Media & journalism from Push Africa Institute for media and journalism Accra Ghana and also FRCN radio school Lagos, making him carry out the task of an OAP in some media outfits. He is married with Children.
