Description:

We are excited to update the student chapter and section award program for 2024. Based upon feedback from officers and Regional Directors, it has been revamped to help globally recognize more groups – and in specific areas of excellence. The awards are extremely meaningful to these groups who work diligently all year to fulfill SPE’s mission in their local area.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with section officer experience to serve as judges for the Section award reviews. The time commitment would be for one month – in June for sections. It is difficult to know how many applications we will receive – but it is estimated to take about 10 minutes to review each application. Total Estimated Time: 5-7 hours over one month.  Judges will be assigned sections to review from all regions and not just specifically from their region.

Here are a few reasons why you might consider volunteering:

  • Help select this year’s award winners who set examples for our over 580 student chapters and sections around the world. You will help select the top groups to be honored and featured for their best practices throughout the year.
  • Help applicants grow by providing feedback to how they can improve their operations and programming for members.
  • You will read about excellent programming you can then bring back to your section.

Qualifications:

  • Paid, professional member
  • Current or past section officer experience
  • Available for the entire judging period
    • Sections: June
  • Comfortable using an online judging platform to review and rank applications
  • Commitment to providing detailed feedback
