Goliat Development and the Way Forward

By Erik Brondbo, Eni

Abstract

The Goliat field in license PL229 is located 85 km off the coast from Hammerfest, operated by Eni Norge AS (65%) with Equinor ASA as a partner (35%).

Goliat is the first oil producing field in the Barents Sea. Plateau oil production of 16.500 Sm3/d is achieved from 15 oil production wells.
Pressure support is achieved by 8 water injection wells and full gas re-injection through 3 gas injection wells.

The presentation will cover the period from the discovery in 2000, through the development and start-up of Goliat in 2016, seen from a reservoir perspective.

With Goliat in stable operation, Eni Norge is now evaluating the way forward.
