The Alaska Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is kicking off the 43^rd year of their Scholarship Program. These scholarships are awarded to Alaskan students pursuing professional technical degrees that lead to careers in the Alaska oil and gas industry. The Scholarship Program is funded by a long list of Alaskan companies and individuals that understand the value of developing Alaskan talent for this industry. The fundraising effort culminates in a social BBQ event, which will be held this year on Friday, November 7th at the Viking Hall in Anchorage. Doors open at 6pm and Dinner to begin at 6:30 pm.
